Jerry is the average "gamer". He mostly plays AAA console titles such as Assassin's Creed, Skyrim, Uncharted, etc, and the occasional online game of Call of Duty or Battlefield. Is moderately interested in the happenings of the gaming world but not beyond what concerns his own consumption of the medium.
Elaine is the casual/mobile/Facebook gamer. She plays Candy Crush, Angry Birds, Farmville, etc. Couldn't care less about gaming news or "real" games.
George is the competitive gamer. Dota, League of Legends, Counter-Strike and the competitions and leagues associated with them is what he spends his time with. And of course, he brings his neurotic and obnoxious behaviour into it and constantly tries to blame his shortcomings on others or find ways out of his commitments. Naturally, he's a big spectator of e-sports.
Kramer is, of course, a fan of indie games and older, obscure titles. Braid, Limbo, Hotline Miami, I Have No Mouth And Must Scream and so on. He's a typical "games are art" stereotype and constantly talks about his thoughts and analyses of what he plays, very often reading a bit too much into them. He's very engaged in the happening of the gaming world, which often leads him into heated debates with Newman.
Newman considers himself to be a "true" gamer. Think the average poster on 4chan's /v/ board. Baldur's Gate, Dark Souls, Deus Ex and World of Warcraft are among the games he enjoy. He resents Jerry and other "casuals" who are "ruining games" and "dumbing them down". Video games belongs to the likes of him, and now all these other people are taking it away from him. He's very engaged in the gaming community, and often has heated debates with Kramer.
