Nail Newbie with a plan! Would love some advice though!

Hello All! (Im not sure if this type of post is allowed, Mods i can remove if i need to!)

I currently do not to anything to my nails, but bite them :( BUT Ive been super inspired since i subbed to r/RedditLaqueristas, that I'm now so ready to start all of this! But i want to make sure im taking the right steps before I start.

First- i read about the difference in Acrylic, Gel and Shellac.

My Plan - Im thinking of getting Gels done, cause that way i cant bite, and then have them professionally removed and get done again(that same day) with only Shellac. I'm thinking if I have my nails done, i would be less inclined to bite?

What do you lovely folks think?
