Description:

Redia is a fit, somewhat thin, tan skinned woman, who stands at 5'8" (172 cm), and 140 lbs (63.5 kgs). She has deep black hair that reaches just beyond her shoulders, as well as tattoos that cover her back, with a few on her upper arms and her chest. Her face is surprisingly spotless, with no scars, blemishes, or tattoos to speak of. She's often seen wearing the standard attire for a Caspian ambassador, a white undershirt covered by a black overcoat, with long white pants covering her legs. She also has a black hood that is often seen pulled forward over her face, carries a small bag on her at all times, and has a custom made belt that carries a few tomes for quick, hands free access. She's often seen with a smile on her face, riding her horse everywhere but into battle.

Personality:

Redia is an intensely empathetic woman, someone who will always lend a hand to those in need and who hates being seen as a villain, or a foe. She loves making friends, and is easily able to talk for hours about anything. She enjoys talking about politics, but doesn't often bring it up, as she knows it can be rather divisive. Her intensely joyous personality, mixed with some level of blessings from various gods, magical wards in the form of her tattoos, and a lot of training, allows her to wield order magic to devastating effect... often too devastating for her own taste. She will almost always hold back in battle, even in life or death scenarios, owing to her ideology on the nature of human life, that no one is worth more than anyone else, and that everyone deserves her goodwill, and must first do something to lose it before she will consider them a foe.

Background:

Redia Araan was born to her mother, Caspian noble and ambassador to the Skiwan village of Boken, Neda Arran, and her father, new chief, but born commoner of Skiw, Achak Solas. Her mother had been sent to Boken less as the ambassador, and more to secure the empire's route to a nearby silver-rich cave, to order the villagers to mine for said silver, and to enforce that rule with the help of the guards that she had brought. Not long after landing, she met Achak, a man who she fell in love with. Shortly after, he showed her, in detail, just what it meant for them to be sent to the mines. She had a revelation, that her rule, and that the rule that was being enforced by the empire in Skiw, was inhumane, and disgusting. Neda conspired with some of the villagers to set them free, and after a "freak accident involving a rebellion and intense fire magic", the cave collapsed, and the "rebellion" were all killed off. Afterwards, Achak was elected chieftain of Boken, and the 2 married. Redia was born shortly after.

Redia grew up in Boken, and was considered one of the locals. She had a lot of friends growing up, learned to read, write, and speak both Skiwan (or at least, the version of Skiwan that people in Boken knew) and Caspian, and was raised mostly as a Skiwan, with the duties of the ambassador only being introduced later in her life. Regardless, over the course of her childhood, she chose a primary patron god, Thesmi, she inherited her mother's title as ambassador, training intensely in pain management, as well as mastery of Order magic, developed a crush on her best friend, Anna, told Anna, and got let down gently by Anna. Sometime into her life, she realized she had the chance to make a difference, a real difference, for the people of Skiw. She has since set her sight on becoming one of the advisors to the emperor of Skiw, to hopefully, one day, teach an incoming emperor about the important of treating everyone, even those who are different, as people, because everyone is just a person, at the end of the day.

So, when Redia heard that a diplomat, one dealing in Skiwan relationships no less, had been captured, she immediately set off Caspia in order to volunteer in the rescue mission, in hopes of gaining renown, and, more importantly, climbing the ladder of the empire.
