Folks,

An author messaged me that their post was 100% specific/ explicit as to what they want (ie, MF4MF), and yet they have been bombarded with posts from folks who do not fit the asked-for criteria.

Please:

1. Read the full question (RTFQ, also known as read the f***ing question): Read what the person is looking for. If you do not fit their category, don't message them. Yes, you might hope they will make an exception for you but you could also annoy them. For example, u/Liveonce_Playhard specifically asked for 25 - 55 year old men. I am 56. Close but no cigar. I did not message them as I do not qualify. It is about boundaries. Further to that point, u/Liveonce_Playhard made it clear that single/ open relationships are a must and that again would preclude me. Pass.
2. Boundaries: People put boundaries in place for any number of reasons. Ours is not to question why even if we do not agree with said boundary. It is about respect (see Rule #1).
3. Personally I think I would be an absolute blast as a fit 56-year-old male who works out daily. And yet, I am not everyone's cup of tea. I get that. I suspect I am old enough to be "Dad" for some of the people in this forum. That might freak some folks out - going on a date with Dad?!

And yes, folks, I am a guy/ male. One of our fellow Redditors thought I was a member of the fairer sex. Nope. 56MM in a DB with no ENM (long story).

Bottom line: Clearly understand what the author/ authors want and if you do not fit, don't reply. If the criteria are vague, ask for clarification but do not assume. Respect boundaries. I am sure you are the "catch of the day". So am I. Our time will come.
