Twofold question on my 8828

First, any preferences on the laces in the pics? Second, in Red Wing I have Iron Rangers, 1907s, chukkas, black smiths and roughnecks. Not sure if it’s just this leather is so stiff but see the shape of the tongue. It stays like that even with the boot on. Also, I don’t have any other brand new boots here for reference but the eyelets aren’t directly across from each other. Never paid attention if this was the norm
