Some people might disagree with some of my choices, but here are the tracks I kept:
- Black Summer
- Here Ever After
- Aquatic Mouth Dance
- The Great Apes
- It's Only Natural
- She's a Lover
- These Are the Ways
- Whatchu Thinkin'
- White Braids & Pillow Chair
- One Way Traffic
- Let 'Em Cry
- The Heavy Wing
And the tracks I removed are:
- Not the One
- Poster Child
- Bastards of Light
- Veronica
- Tangelo
I'm still deciding on whether or not I want to keep Not the One, I do like the song, I just think it severely grinds the energy of the album to a halt. However, I am open to fitting it in again if I can find a good place for it. It's a very chill vibe.
Poster Child is funky as hell, but in my opinion is a bit too long, with nothing much happening or changing as the song progresses. It feels repetitive and slow, and much like Not the One, I think it hurts the pace. I'm not saying every album in the world needs to be intense and fast from beginning to end, but I always feel my excitement for the listening experience of UL drop a little when these two songs come on.
I've listened to this playlist a few times now and I just think it flows much better and is more streamlined. As much as I love UL, there are a couple tracks that feel like filler and to me, don't add much to the album overall. Veronica and Tangelo are examples of this.
I also think The Heavy Wing works SO much better as an album closer than Tangelo does.
This is just my personal opinion, so if you were to do the same thing, let me know what your own "Limited Love" playlist would look like! (None of you better take These are The Ways out, as I think it's one of the highlights of the entire album and I will die on that hill)
