I've been writing my second EP and I solely rely on plug-ins: amp sims, Arturia interface/controller, EZDrummer 2, etc. This song I was working on in particular has been some of the most complex writing yet. Jumping between 4/4 and 5/4 timing, irregular chord progressions (for me at least).
Last night, I think my CPU usage was higher than usual and as I was about to finish the general idea and render for my guitarist, Reaper crashed on me BEFORE I saved. I haven't been this angry in awhile and I was stewing in my thoughts all night. Luckily I noticed all of my guitar parts/drums were automatically setup in my project folder.
I forgot about the auto save/recovery feature. Tonight when I get home from work I'm going to try and bring this project back up. I really hope I can recover everything, otherwise I just lost 4 hours worth of work. Now I can see why producers always say CTRL S....
