Question from Someone New to Recording
Post Body

Hey guys! I have a quick question. I'm using a large condenser microphone connected to a focusrite 8i8. I have a monitoring headset and I;m trying to fiddle with the gain. But it's doing this thing where the rest of the audio tracks I put into my DAW all are standard wave heights, are at normal volume, and perfectly fine. But my condenser mic barely even tracks any waves when I record with it, and it's registering as very low in decibels. That alone is obviously a gain adjustment.

The strange thing is that when I play the condenser mic track back, even with almost no waves or decibels, it's just as loud as everything else. The problem is that my monitoring while I record comes back nearly silent, and if I turn it up, every other track gets way way too loud.

I'm really confused at what is happening, I was hoping someone might know. Thanks!!!
