Best way to Insert Samples Seldomly in Drum Tracks?
Post Flair (click to view more posts with a particular flair)
Post Body

I am fairly new to drum editing in general. Just learned how to slip edit in Reaper, and it's pretty fantastic! I have a few sections on some tracks where the drummer missed a hit on a fill or had a bit of a sloppy fill. What would be the best way to approach this? I've messed around with sample replacing with one shots, but i'm not really into that, and not sure it would be the thing to do here.

Every time i track, i take a bunch of samples of the toms, kick and snare. I'm thinking maybe just copying the one hit onto another track and feathering it in, being careful to make sure the phase is aligned and just sort of do it by feel? Would that work?

Someone with some experience, please come in.

Thanks!
