Apparently if you kill someone as an Engineer and your turret kills the chicken, you don't get a chicken leg.

I solod someone as an engineer, while having my turret up and immediately focussed on killing the chicken. My turret got the final blow on him and five minutes later I reached a forge but I did not have a chicken leg. I guess this is because of my turret, has anyone had this? If this is not true, please don't downvote but tell me what actually happened.
