How to identify top Real Estate Agents in specific Zip Codes

I am looking to compile data about realtors. While having access to an MLS will make it easier I was wondering if anyone has a foolproof method of identifying the top agent in a specific zip code by 1 of 2 factors.
a. most homes listed b. most sales closed
Or, does someone know of a company that already has complied such a list and was looking to sell it.
