Post Body

  1. Gather Supplies: You'll need DXM-containing cough syrup (DXM HBR or DXM Polistirex, make sure there are NO ADDITIVES, water, a container (or bag), a coffee filter or cheesecloth, and a mixing utensil.

  2. Prepare the Solution: Pour the desired amount of cough syrup into the container.

  3. Add Water: Add a 3:1 amount of water to the container. For example, if you have 100ml of cough syrup, add 300ml of water.

  4. Mix: Stir the mixture well to ensure the DXM is evenly distributed.

  5. Strain: Place the coffee filter or cheesecloth over another clean container. Pour the mixture through the filter, allowing the liquid to pass through while trapping any solid particles. (Alternatively you can use a plastic bag and wait for the DXM to settle, then pinch off the DXM and pour out the water.

  6. Let it Settle: Allow the filtered liquid to settle for a few minutes to ensure any remaining particles settle to the bottom.

  7. Decant or Filter Again (Optional): Carefully pour or filter the liquid again to remove any settled particles.

  8. Dispose of the Waste: Dispose of the syrup and water.

  9. Consume or Store: The resulting particles on your filter or in your bag is the extracted DXM. You can dry it out by letting it sit or consume it directly.
