This will be a very controversial opinion, but surely I'm not the only one to have had this thought, and I'm curious to find out what this philosophy is called/if there are other philosophers who have this position.
The main thesis is this: the value of an individual life depends on its rarity, and amid world overpopulation, this value is diluted by the excessive number of people currently alive. When there are too many people, no one person is likely to be meaningfully unique, and this dilutes the importance of their individual life. In such cases, an individual death does not result in anything irreplaceable being lost, so it is rendered less impactful.
What is this position called?
