Hello!
My friend has a home that they were renting out to construction workers and they never bothered to check in from time to time. Home on Zillow estimate is in the 300s. I know Zillow Estimate is trash but for the sake of this post its important.
My friend believes they can sell for this zillow estimate amount or near it based on home sales in the area.
Thing is, as stated above, he never bothered to check in on the house. We went in yesterday, its completely trashed. Mold everywhere, german roach infestation, smells like urine, really nasty looking spots all over the walls and tile, cabinets ruined and rotting away. Pretty sure human feces in certain areas. Roach/Bug feces everywhere. Basically it will need to be completely gutted.
Outside of that, solid walls and newish roof. How will this affect appraisal? At this point I personally would rather sell and invest in something new then spend the time and money in fixing it up.
