Yep. It totally did.
Hi, there! Founder of /r/RealEstate here. And by "founder", I mean "guy who rescued one of Reddit's prime spam havens so I'd have somewhere to dump the real estate blog posts I found interesting.
It was a tough slog at first. /r/realestate started out as me and roughly eleventy-seven million spammers mostly interested in getting someone, anyone to buy a vacation condo in Pune.
That was a long time ago. So long, in fact, that it made sense to steal the Reddit Re/MAX logo for the header (now you know!). We've got 33,500 subscribers right now, or about 33,480 more than when we started (and I think I banned the other 19). And lemme tell ya - for every new subscriber we've added, I've probably spammed ten posts about condos in India. Augean stables? Hercules got nuthin' on me.
And then Automoderator came.
SO HERE'S THE SITCH
If you have less than
- one (1) link karma, automoderator will filter your post.
Fortunately for you, it's not physically possible to have less than (1) link karma so yay! However, if you have less than
- TWO (2) comment karma, automoderator will also filter your post.
Practically speaking, you have to have said something somewhere on Reddit at some point in your tenure here that someone agreed with. Tough, I know. You'll have to come out of your shell a little, make a friend or two, do a little herp, make a little derp. I've launched sockpuppets towards a thousand comment karma in a day so believe me when I say we aren't asking much.
"But why are you asking? Something something nazi mods! My freedoms! Rabble rabble pitchfork!"
Hate to break it to ya, but the most prolific posters in /r/realestate remain the guys selling condos in India. And not having to deal with them frees up time for me and the other moderators of /r/realestate to attend to burlier, more controversial subreddits like /r/movies and /r/foodforthought.
Yes, if you message us and ask if your post has been removed, we will answer you and approve your post. But if you aren't getting answers and you're too shy to wonder why, now you know.
Best,
- Your Nazi Mod(s)
PS: Upvotes for anyone willing to tell me where you all came from. This seriously wasn't a problem until like 5 months ago... and the majority of "I've been filtered" posts are all 5-month-old accounts with exactly zero participation on Reddit.
