I bought a house outright in 2020, Am I able to still get title insurance or is it even worth it?
Post Body

Basically I was relatively pressured by my dad and grandfather into buying this house that I was iffy on in 2020 because It was going to be about half of the estimated value due to the owner's we're having to move to Florida due to some sort of medical issue and just needing to sell ASAP. Now 4 years later and I relatively despise the house and just constantly things coming up that I've got to deal with eventually. And it looks like it's just because when they remodeled or added on or something they didn't do it properly and it's just a klusterfuk. About a year after I moved in there was a heavy rainstorm and the downstairs (The original section of the house which is now the kitchen) flooded. We dug up a pipe that was completely clogged and broken that connected into the house and continue to run on. I'm assuming past the house (We still don't really know where it goes to) in which it had like a drain in the room that it ran under. Assumed it was just due to that issue and we put the room back together, but cut to now and every so often there will be some water downstairs and last week there was the really really heavy storms. I had one of the drywall down, we had to get through an old window to completely replace my daughter's bedroom floor because there was old termite damage that was never actually repaired and they just put brackets attaching it to the wall and then covered up the brackets, And water was just pouring in from the foundation around that room, And then it was pouring in in two other spots as well. One of which is from an addition that they did and has cracked because they didn't make the foundations flat and the wall is straight and then you can just see the cinder block go at an angle. Like there's just so much mess that just new things keep popping up and finding out that are just due to their half-assed repair work or add-ons

Will a title insurance or anything help me pay for this stuff? I did buy the house as is and I regret doing that and without any type of inspection. But like I said I was basically guilt-tripped and peer pressured by my dad and grandfather to get the house and I basically had like 48 hours to decide because they wanted to buy it. I don't know. I'm just I'm so I just feel so helpless with it. There's so much that I've got to fork out massive amounts of money for to try and fix. Like I just replaced all the steps on the staircase and put up drywall and I'm probably going to have to take some of it out if not all of it to try and see why water is coming in there as well as the other two spots.

And as far as the water and stuff there's no way that they didn't know about it, there's only been three or four times that it's been a massive issue but we built a floor and put up walls and stuff in the room that that pipe goes under so who knows how often water actually seeps up and goes into that room, And it's clear that it's happening more than just the times that it goes into the kitchen and dining room because one corner has now twice had mushrooms growing on the carpet And I've had to bleach and kill everything in that corner twice now.

Like I just I feel so helpless and like my house is just going to fall apart at any moment and then I'm fucked. Like currently I'm completely out of debt and if something happens to the house there's zero chance of finding anything that's even remotely livable for anything close to what my insurance will pay, which I do need to speak to them and get higher coverage but idk. I don't even know if this is the correct place to even ask all of this stuff for for advice or anything. I just I feel desperate and helpless and hopeless and Regret every last thing about this house.
