Property taxes outside of escrow/mortgage
Post Body

Hello everyone,

Iā€™m a little confused and hopefully can get some clarification.

Iā€™m closing Feb 2nd on a new home. I opt to have my property taxes payed out directly to tax office vs having it in escrow/mortgage. I will be submitting to them a homestead 100% tax exemption (Florida) due to my 100% service connected Va disability.

Am I still required to pay 12 months in advance of taxes in my escrow account prior of closing?

Or will I receive a tax bill in the mail to pay myself directly to the tax office?

Any additional help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you!!
