on the ProTest Kit booklet, it's mentioned that the Marquis reagent reacts green to DOI, DOC, and DOB. Is it true?
I'm trying to rule them out on my LSD tab, which reacted purple with the Ehrlich reagent. is Ehrlich enough? could it be melatonin mixed with DOx or i'm overthinking?
No, a positive Erhlich test simply means that an indole (lysergimide or tryptamine) is present. So it could be an LSD analogue, or a tryptamine like DMT, 5-HTP, etc.
I expect it's probably true. ProTest is good about updating their charts when new information comes along.
Erhlich can only confirm the presence of an indole. If you have reason to suspect a mixture of drugs, like you mentioned melatonin mixed with DOx, then you would need a negative control reagent like Marquis to rule that out. I don't have any idea if that's actually some, but you'd need to test with Marquis to spot it.

Any lysergimide or tryptamine will trigger a positive Erhlich test so there's a lot more possibilities beyond NBOMes.
