Pushing the start date for one more year

I have accepted an offer with Raytheon RMD and I was supposed to start mid of May. I pushed my starting date for end of August and now after the start date is approaching I feel like I need to travel out of the country to take care of my parents. I need to stay with them for a year until I can be able to bring them to the USA. I’m not sure what the right thing to do : 1- should I ask Raytheon again to push my start date for another year ? And travel to take care of my parents? Can I work in my home country when I’m with my parents? 2- should I start with Raytheon and then ask for a one year leave ?
