How to introduce MTG card game in a Ravnica campaign

I’m holding a Ravnica campaign for some of my friends, and I want the card game to be apart of it. Right now I identify two problems 1. Some of the players don’t play mtg 2. I don’t want to play a full game because that would take way too long
Right now I’m thinking I could give them cards (like commons or lands) and they could use them as an expendable resource, but there is some kind of cost to using them, but any advice would be great
