I just read Foucault in California: A True Story--wherein the Great French Philosopher Drops Acid in the Valley of Death, and I thought it was great.
But it made me wonder what other stories are out there of people, especially people of some prominence, who had similar experiences.
What are some stories you know that stand out as noteworthy or particularly interesting?
There are many stories I don’t know. Of the stories I do know, I wish I knew more. Feel free to share links if you know good articles or YouTube videos, for example.
I liked some of the stories in Have A Good Trip, from well-known actors, comedians, musicians, etc.
I’m vaguely familiar with Bicycle Day, when Albert Hofmann accidentally discovered LSD-25.
I know next to nothing about Hunter S. Thompson, Terrence McKenna, etc.
I’ve read Timothy Leary’s trip report of his first mushroom experience in Mexico.
I’ll eventually read The Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley, just haven’t gotten there yet.
Can you help round out my education?
