I participate in a few psychedelic and spiritual communities and the amount of "shoulds" that get thrown out is just wild. All these things I should and shouldn't be doing, all these ways of seeing the world that I should be following, all these divine truths being transmitted to me via reddit post, are just mind boggling.

The way I keep myself sane with all of this stuff is just to ask "or what?" at the end of this post. "Always use psychedelics in this way..." or what? And the answer is almost always "nothing" or "a stranger on the internet will disapprove". Which... whatever.

The posts I find more useful, hope to see more of, and hope to put more of out into the world tend to be more nuanced. Maybe try this, here's what will probably happen, here's what might not. It ends up not being such a hot take but I think they're generally more representative of reality.
