Should I go back and play any Ratchet and clank to be able to play Rift apart? Small confession.

I love all the ratchet and Clank games, I played. I had fallen off when the future series came out, but was always interested. I could never find a copy when I actually wanted to play it. So I know nothing about them.
Small confession: I played the original three…but I have never finished them. When I was a kid the end bosses always were too hard, so I just stopped. So I do want to replay them but I just got rift apart, should I do a replay before starting rift?
