I haven’t been following the community closely recently but…
Post Body

I have no idea if these are even considered rare these days it’s been awhile since I have checked in here. I had a $100 gift card to my local plant store and found a NSE Tropical Red Crystallinum x Doc Block (Zara x Michelle) that was the only one and being sold for a reduced price since it was damaged and the “last pick of the litter” so to speak from the supplier herself. I’m not sure if the supplier is NSE Tropicals or any of the hundreds of tropical plant suppliers in Florida.

Since it was the last one and a bit scratched up I’m not expecting it to be a perfect specimen with the best bright red emergent or anything. I think I remember the prime specimens having stronger red veining on the leaf. I imagine the grower usually picks the best specimens first as they sell. But regardless, I’m obsessed with the sparkled veins and the dark velvet green leaves. Super excited about this one :) the other one it is next to is a regular Anthurium Dorayaki.

I’ve seen the prices come down a bit for these as established plants a bit over time but it’s been on my wishlist and was a unicorn plant (for me) at one point. I mean unicorn for me really is any starter size that is $200 …..She was $88 and I am excited to see what the first emergent leaf looks like :)
