So, I'm still kind of irritated about this event. I got hired on at this tire and lube place, and I really love working there as opposed to an office job thanks to the autonomy it provides. I also very much like working with cars, even though I dont really know anything about them. I'm learning as I go.

Thing is, one the very second day I'd worked here, there was an incident. I wasn't quite used to reading the tickets in full, and was basically following around and shadowing people to get the hang if things. Worked on one car that required two new tires and a rotation, but the problem lies in that I came onto the car about midway through. Never knew about the rotation, and was just helping put the new tires on. The dude I'd been working with, however, had been there for seven months at the time.

Told me to zip up the new tires, torque them and whatever. Cool. I do that, and he says he's going to drive it out. Sweet. Paperwork is handed in, and I'm feeling good.

We both get called outside not too long after when the customer says some some nuts fell off. Well, fuck, how'd that happen? I fucking know we torqued them, but nope, they're falling off the FRONT tires. What.

YOU DIDN'T ZIP UP THE FRONT TIRES, DUDE? I never even knew there was a fucking rotation. The idea that the new tires go on the back was a foreign concept for me because, you know, second day and all.

Biggest point of contention though was that our grandmaster, the regional manager himself, had decided to pop in that day, and of course he sees this incident, and of course we both get written up. Again, second day.

I get that I didn't read the work order, so fine. That's totally blame I'll take, but what's pushing me off is my boss will sometimes pop out a comment of, "Did you torque those tires? We don't want a repeat of what happened back then." And it's really grinding on my nerves. I KNOW I made a mistake that could have proved potentially lethal, and I get that it's a big deal, but I've improved since (I'm still slow as fuck though). Does he have to bring that shit up again and again, constantly?

The other dude, who has since ghosted and essentially quit, also caused an oil out, has busted a lot of sensors, and just did some crap stuff, but was still there because he was the ONLY one hired on at the time. Like, why did you make me shadow a dude like that?

Rant over, but fuck if I want to work with comments like that all the time.
