So a while back, around March or April one, I moved in with my grandparents and moved to their basement for a sense of privacy (not that they know what that word means but either way). This led to me moving into a corner that, for whatever reason, does not like the internet at all.
This is a problem for me since I’m a bit of a gamer. So my solution to this problem: a wifi extender. I buy a cheaper one from Best Buy, set it up, everything goes well.
Fast forward to just this month, the main internet provider comes over because our main router was having some issues. Turns out they replace it and change the password. I go to update my extender so I can continue to have wifi access in my corner, but now whenever I download a game or anything the wifi extender just throws a tantrum, flashing a red light and refusing to connect to the internet or to properly connect to my consoles.
I did get my Xbox to connect to the main router for a brief period and it does work normally, but because of the impedance it didn’t last long, not that my PlayStation can connect to it anyways.
Well I did pretty much everything the company told me to do without escalating it and it’s still an issue, even though the spot it’s in is getting a good connection and is, according to the company, in a good spot. So I decide to do some research after work, and saw a steam thread about how someone was using their extender with their laptop/pc and couldn’t download games with it.
So I’m left to ask: has anyone who has their extenders have any issues like this?
