Thatâs right yâall, itâs my name day. Iâm getting old as all get out and Iâve got enough salt & pepper growing in to almost be considered a condiment. In quick adorable news, I became an uncle yesterday to my first niece (her brother was my first nephew). Everyone is happy and healthy and I canât wait to meet her. (Unfortunately it wonât be for a little while because for my birthday, my only gift thus far has been testing positive for COVID⌠womp womp.) but I digressâŚ

So letâs just jump right in to it. Refer to the last post linked above if you forget any of your information or need to refresh on the rules. So there will be two starting points:
The first directly following this paragraph will be for anyone whose number next to Path in your original comment from the initial post (linked above and several other times) was between 1 and 3. The second will follow a little further down the page, below the badass looking sword page break, and will be for those of you from which your first comment had a Path whose number fell between 4 and 6. Please only respond to the prompt at the end of your relevant path please! Thatâs it, go go gadget adventure quest time!
PATH 1-3
If your Path number from the previous comment linked here was either 1, 2, or 3 your quest begins here (if you had 4, 5, or 6 jump down the page past the sword break to find your beginning):

Weightlessness. Like a feather. You feel weightless⌠As consciousness returns to you, youâre not sure whatâs going on as you feel wind whipping against your face. You snap your eyes open and canât make sense of the sight before you, because for a second the world seems upside down and you donât understand why things are moving around you so quickly. Oh shit. Youâre falling. In an jarring instant, youâve become hyper aware of your surrounding, the empty blue sky disorienting as you try and get your bearings. You realize the air is rushing past you, so you manage to flip around and right yourself in to a proper free fall. Now you can see with terrible clarity the fast approaching ground below⌠wait, not ground (thank the heavens for small mercies), but water. Below you lies an ocean stretching to touch the horizon as far as you can see in every direction. Now that youâve managed to spin yourself around and steady your fall, you do a quick mental survey of the situation, but canât seem to remember anything before coming to. You try but everything is just fuzzy. Just then, rising out of the blanket of sea water, you see in the distance a land mass that doesnât appear to be too far away from where you figure youâre going to land. You could make the swim once you hit the water (if it doesnât kill you that is, and thatâs a big if you realize). You decide that should you survive this free fall, the first thing you need to do is get to land if you have any hopes of surviving long enough to figure out where you are and how you ended up here. Then you can figure out how to thank anyone involved in your current predicament. But first things first, gotta survive this plunge. You lock your legs below you, pull your arms in close to your chest to brace for impact, and feel something on your chest. Your hands find a necklace knotted round your neck, but youâre sure youâve never been one for jewelryâŚ

- Roll a d6. If your initial Finesse is higher, add it to the result and mark it next to Roll A with Fi indicated before the number (so like Fi# as in Fi11 or Fi6) If your initial Force was higher use that instead and do the same thing indicated next to Roll A only using Fo instead of Fi (like Fo# as in Fo7).

In the last post, linked here, if you had ended up with Path number 4, 5, or 6, then below is where youâll begin your quest:

Chains. Rattling. Whatâs that smell⌠You begin to regain consciousness and the first thing that hits you is the smell. Itâs not necessarily bad. Just⌠hot. Like fetid breath. So yeah, maybe it is bad, but not the worst youâve smelled by a long shot (you recall your time spent in a goblin fighting pit dungeon and wince at the thought of the odors thereâŚ). But where are you? Youâre trying to recall anything before regaining consciousness but itâs cloudy. Fuzzy. Rattling. There it is again, the sound that woke you. Like chains clanging against metal. You survey your surroundings. Itâs dark, but not pitch black. A faint fire burns somewhere in the area, wall torches light the area you find yourself in. You look around and see cages, wicked looking iron cages about the size of a man if he were hunched over, the bottoms of which are strewn with straw, debris, refuse, and⌠is that blood? Something bad happened here. You realize youâve awoken in one such cage, but why? Thereâs no door to your cage, so youâre not captive? But obviously not the guest of honor either, or if you are, youâll have to seriously talk to your host about accommodations. The chains rattle again in the distance, this time followed by the sound of something big smashing into something metal. And it sounds closer than before. You donât know whatâs going on, but youâre not going to get any answers just sitting here, so you grab a piece of broken metal you find on the floor, not quite a sword but itâs got a wicked looking edge on it and will do for now, and you set off towards the door youâve noticed on the other side of this cavernous room.

Thatâs it for this part kids. I didnât realize how kind of clunky this was going to be to both write and keep organized so Iâm going to try my best.
