Alright y’all, my Berfday is fast approaching so in true nerd fashion, we’re going on a quest! (Thanks to the mod squad for their blessing on this one.)

So this is going to be a multi-post contest that’ll work like this: Each piece of the contest will have a small story associated with it asking you to roll some dice and maybe make a choice or two. Your answers will determine things in regards to the next post and what you’re able to do (and no cheating! It won’t work, I promise).

As long as you’re in on this post and each subsequent post (there will be four total including this one, so three more to follow), then you’ll have a chance at the final treasure! (Something from your list in the $40 range plus an additional custom gift by yours truly)

Feel free to ask questions if any of that is confusing. I’m going to try and keep it to an every other day schedule for each piece of this adventure, which should see it wrapping up next Wednesday with the winner announced next Friday.

So quick Rules to get that out of the way (please read and follow so I don’t need to disqualify anyone):

1. You must participate in each piece of the contest until the end. But with each deadline I will do my best to reach out to anyone that hasn’t commented on the current step.
2. Each new entry following this one will be under the [Activity][Contest] Adventure Quest Part ___ tag.
3. This is open to all, although it would be nice if you were an active and participating member of the sub. Don’t just be a thankless treasure-taking terror!
4. Please don’t cheat. By that I mean don’t just pick all high numbers cause you think it’ll help you win. The fun is in the luck of the roll. Plus it won’t help you at all. Sometimes it will be the high number that’s advantageous for the next part sure, but sometimes it’ll be the low number, and sometimes a very specific range. So just post what you get an hope for the best!
5. I’ll make reference to dice by the names d6, d12, and d20 (might even see the almighty d100 show it’s face). All this refers to is the die and how many sides it has. So a d6 is a six sided die and a d20 is a twenty sided die. I’ll post these links again at the bottom, but here’s a few links to a online dice rollers if you don’t have the physical dice to use (And if you’re really stuck, as an alternative you can choose numbers at random that would fall in the range of the die being used, so for a d6, choose between numbers 1-6):

So those are the rules. Now let’s get to the fun part. Alright, to actually start this journey, you’re going to need a character. So here’s the things you need to come up with:

• Name: You make this one up
• Class: Choose from the following:

Blade Dancer (the sneaky assassin with deft fingers),

Beast Totem (one with nature and animal friends)

Storm Weaver (trained in the arcane arts of elemental magic)

Tale Spinner (the lively songwriter who’s spirits are high)

• Next roll two d20’s also known as twenty sided die (use the linked dice rollers if you don’t own a physical one or for convenience) and assign one of the results to Force [you’re someone who punches first and asks questions later] and one result to Finesse [you use your brains rather than your brawn to find resolutions]. For this one I will reveal that you want to put the higher of your two numbers in the one you want your character strongest in.
• Finally, roll a d6 and record the final number as your Path [this will partly determine where you end up in branches of the narrative].

And that’s it. So your comment should look something like:

• Name: [Whatever you decide]
• Class: [Choose one: Blade Dancer / Beast Totem / Storm Weaver / Tale Spinner]
• Force: [Result of one of your d20 rolls]
• Finesse: [Result of your other d20 roll]
• Path: [d6 result]

With the higher or the two results going to whether you want to be more adept at Force or Finesse as described above.
