Hello, my friends! Today marks Jane Austen's 245th birthday.🥳 In honor I want to gift you some books!
US only
Must be a member of RAOA, active in the community outside of giveaways and contests, and have gifted in the past 2 months. Must be an amiable person with the best qualities of friendship and good cheer. Must agree to providing me your address of residence.
Contest ends 9:30am 12/17. I'll random raffle the winner and message the winner post haste.
First book is Pride & Prejudice with yummy recipes you can make for a modern tea party. It's hardback, large, and has thick pages. Reminds me of a textbook. The second book is Pride & Prejudice & Mistletoe. This is on my reading list for this month but I haven't gotten to it yet so I have no idea how romantically cheesy it is. But I do know that it's enough because they made a Hallmark movie from it. Here are the books!
I will be buying these books from bookoutlet.com. I love getting books from here because they're super discounted. From their website: "Wondering how we manage those discounts? Here’s our secret: our books are marked down because most of them are marked with a small line or dot on the edge by publishers who sell us their returns and excess inventory. The books we sell are new, unread, and in good condition." So, just throwing it out there your book will come with a dot or a line.
In the comments, discuss all things Jane Austen amongst yourselves. Take account of Persuasion:
*"My idea of good company...is the company of clever, well-informed people, who have a great deal of conversation; that is what I call good company.'
'You are mistaken,' said he gently, 'that is not good company, that is the best."*
Thanks for entering and I hope you have fun!
Not entering, but I absolutely LOVE Jane Austen.
I’m planning on reading the last book of hers that I haven’t read yet tonight, Northanger Abbey! I’ve heard it’s underrated and really good, so I’m looking forward to it. After I finish that, I’m going to start North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell, because I’ve heard her works are remarkably similar to Jane Austen’s! ❤️
