Hi there, RAOR!
I'm brand new to reddit (and obviously to this subreddit) and I'm excited about joining y'all.
My name is Savannah. I live in Pennsylvania with my three cats and countless plants. By day, I'm a university professor who teaches public speaking and other communication classes. By night, I'm just a tired girl who likes to read books and snuggle with her cats. My cats names are: 1. Her Ladyship, Sweets Shadowfox McFuzz, but I call her Tiny Cat; 2. Bronwyn Nyx the Pixie, but I call her Bron; and 3. Atticus French Fry Peachbottom III, who goes by French Fry.
The shelter in place order, while necessary, has got me feeling pretty lonely and craving human connection. I think that reddit might help me to meet that need, or at least, I hope it can. I'm looking forward to conversing with people here and making new friends. While I still talk to my friends and family on the phone, and to my students online, it's not quite the same as having face to face interactions. I know that these conversations won't be the same as a face to face conversation either, but maybe they will help.
A little bit about me: I love cats, plants (specifically bonsais and succulents), coffee, art, books, yoga, and health/exercise. In the past, I was constantly busy with work and going out hiking or doing yoga. Now that I'm stuck in my house, I'm realizing that I should consider extending my interests and trying new things to help me pass the time.
What are some of your favorite things to do in quarantine? How are all of you passing the time? When you feel bored or lonely, what are you doing?
Anyway, it's so very nice to have the opportunity to meet all of you and I look forward to conversing with you. Feel free to AMA and I will do my best to answer.
In gratitude,
Savannah
