Hello there! I’ve been lurking for a while but today I’m taking the plunge and introducing myself!

I’m RenScout! I have a really rad husband and really fun 2 1/2 year old daughter. And she is extra fun this week as we started potty training today! I didn’t know how much liquid could come out of a human that tiny in the first 3 hours of no diaper. I jest, but for real, she is the greatest thing ever.

We move every few years for my husbands job and though it’s really hard, it’s extremely rewarding, too. We get unique opportunities to travel, which is one of my favorite things. I love seeing how other people live and what they find special and beautiful. I’m so grateful for that opportunity.

We recently switched to a mostly plant based diet which has been fun. Finding new recipes and realizing that my stomach prefers it when I don’t eat dairy has been eye opening! It’s nice to feel good.

I recently signed up for a half marathon in March. I’m incredibly nervous but I really want to do it to prove to myself that I can. As a kid I was very in to running. As an adult, I hurt thinking about it. So with some help from professionals I have found that I have been in pain due to lack of muscle strength in most of my body! Such a crazy revelation! I’ve been working out against my anxiety’s better judgement (recently went to the gym for the first time in SIX years) and I’m so happy with myself for being a badass and finally being able to run a mile without stopping. That’s how far I can go so far, but hey! It’s better than where I was.

I absolutely love anything crafty and I love making stuff for my daughter and other people. Sewing is my all time favorite craft but there’s a lot of new things I want to dabble in. Felt crafts have been a recent thing. I’m making my daughter felt food for Christmas and seeing all the cute felt food ideas on Pinterest keeps me feeling like She needs it all! The dream would be where I could hang with my daughter and craft every single day. Currently I still have other responsibilities such as cooking and doing the laundry, but with a good podcast going, I quite enjoy that, too.

My favorite color is yellow. I love Daisies and socks. I love You’ve Got Mail and anything WW2 related (though i tend to be more in to the women of the war and life on the Homefront).

Disney is magical to me and Mickey Mouse makes me happy. I very much like desserts. I like bees. I like keds more than any other shoe.

And I am very excited to be here and get to know you great people. I love a giving and loving heart and it seems to be quite prevalent here.
