Hey friends!

I have noticed a lot of folks mentioning that they too have chronic illnesses and/or pain! I thought it’d be interesting to do a round up of what you’ve got, how long you’ve had the diagnosis, and what your favorite products are to relieve your symptoms.

I’ll start!

I have fibromyalgia and myofacial pain syndrome. As a 13 y/o I was incorrectly diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and Rheumatoid Arthritis, and underwent chemo for the latter diagnosis (with the hope that I was young and otherwise healthy enough that it would put me into lifelong remission). After this, I saw a second rheumatologist who disagreed with my first diagnosis, got a third opinion, and they agreed with the second opinion.

This means I’ve been experiencing symptoms for 13 years, or exactly half my life!

My favorite products are biofreeze and good old naproxen sodium. I don’t know why, but prescription strength doses of naproxen work better for me than my opiate prescriptions did! I tossed those aside and rely almost exclusively on naproxen on bad pain days. I also have some low-grade muscle relaxers, but those just mostly knock me out until the flare has passed.
