Hi Friends! I hope your weekend is going well.
I’d like to introduce myself, as I’ve been lurking for a couple of weeks and am inspired by this sub every single day. I joined reddit because I realized that I got a lot more value out of reddit responses than from any other internet source on basically any topic, and I was routinely googling things with “reddit” on the end. I had no idea what I was missing out on, and I can’t believe it took me this long to join. Reddit is so damn fun and I learn so much.
I’m single, 35F, and work as the assistant registrar at a small university. I love electronic music and dancing, a bit of an audiophile, but if I met an audiophile, I’m sure they’d have another opinion. In fact, I’m headed to a rooftop daytime dance party right now. Gotta get my groove on :)
I’m a big fan of magical realism stories, and my favorite book is 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. I’m a cheerful introverted extrovert with a difficult past that’s done nothing but make me stronger. I did a four year degree in Buddhist Studies (first degree in my family), primarily focused on the Kagyu lineage of the Tibetan tradition. I trained a bit in Buddhist debate, but I’ll admit that I’m not very good!!! I’m a philosopher of sorts and have always been a deep thinker with a curious mind. I’ve spent a lot of time working with the mind and how it functions, so I am pretty insightful in terms of the human experience.
I love thrift/consignment stores, long road trips with friends, camping, learning outdoor/survival skills, basically learning anything (I love when people teach), making pottery, buying pottery, using pottery, watercolor, board games, and solving mysteries of the administrative/tech variety. I am a solution-based thinker and naturally born project manager.
I’m excited to dive in and interact in this community—thanks for having me. I am not sure that my wishlist is set up correctly because it was one character too long for reddit flair. If you have a solution, please let me know! For now I deleted the “https” part, but I’m guessing folks can’t click on the link that way. I also can’t figure out how to see your wishlists from the iOS mobile app. Sounds like we have an administrative mystery to solve....! Someone proposed tinyturl, but I don’t know if reddit flair supports it. Thanks for reading and I look forward to getting to know you!
