I've been lurking for about a month or so thinking this is a really neat sub, but was putting this off because of the aforementioned self-consciousness and general procrastination. But there was a discussion and the nightly hangout that I wanted to participate in, so I decided to go ahead and do this.
I love creating things with my hands, from artwork to jewelry to miniatures for my daughter's dollhouse. I've always been an artistic and creative person. I was in theatre and art all four years of high school, went to college for photography and graphic design (but sadly don't use either currently), and have slowly gotten into sewing in the past two years.
I also really enjoy reading (I'm a Ravenclaw), shopping, and baking. The other night I decided to rescue the three bananas that were dying a slow death on my counter and made blueberry banana bread with them. Ok, maybe I didn't 'rescue' them. I just ended their suffering in a delicious way.
I'm 36 and reluctantly live in Texas. I've collected a husband, sprouted a daughter (the ultimate art, craft, and baking project), and share the house with two fur babies (a Jack Russell terrier and a black cat) and some fish.
I tend to run hot and cold when it comes to watching TV, where I'll be really into getting through a series for a bit and then couldn't care less if I watch TV for a week. My favorites are NCIS (all three), Big Bang Theory, Lucifer (yea for the Netflix rescue!!), Hawaii Five-0, Hell's Kitchen, America's Worst Cooks, and Grace and Frankie. I'm also a big fan of Disney and Marvel movies. Iron Man is my favorite Avenger, but Deadpool might beat him out in my liking in the Marvel universe.
I'm not sure what else to add in here except that I'm looking forward to participating in the community and spreading a little happiness as I can.
