I have been holding it off for many many years and now I'm finally taking the dive. I'm going to get one or two aquariums (hopefully this weekend) and need some tips from other aquarium owners.

What do you stock in your tank? Who is your favorite/least favorite? I'm leaning towards a shrimp tank but might add other creatures as appropriate. A red claw crab tank would be cool too but that's a future dream. 😅

What are your "worth it" tank setup items? (Tank, lights, substrate, plants, hardscape, etc).

What plants do you swear by? Planted tanks are a big reason I wanted to get into this and I initially thought maybe I just wouldn't keep livestock. That has changed but the plants are here to stay!
