You ever hold your house keys but still wanna look at them to make sure you have em?

I have always wondered this. Am I the only one to do this? I can hold them, shake em... but unless I look at them... I won't shut the door behind me.
ps: I've been locked out a few times so maybe it's some kind of light trauma.
