• What inspired you to come up with your own make-up line?
  I ran a makeup blog throughout college when I started to gain an interest in cosmetic chemistry and ingredients. I had prior laboratory research experience and took several science classes so understanding the chemistry came naturally to me. After months of reading through cosmetic textbooks and primary literature, I started experimenting on formulas and colors on my own. It finally took weeks of encouragement from my boyfriend to finally open LE.

• Do you have a favourite collection or a favourite product?
  The lip theories are the most popular but my personal favorite are the matte theories. They’re smudge resistant liquid lipsticks that are math inspired. I’ve always had a passion for mathematics so the line means a lot to me.

• What is your most popular product?
  The lip theories are the bestselling line of products, especially in the colors Catalyst and Big Bang Theory.

• Could you give us an inside scoop on what will be in store for 2016?
  We’re expanding our range of lip theory and matte theory shades, as well as introducing a new line of traditional lipsticks. We’re also partnering up with other retailers to be more readily distributed.
