Post Body

Hello everyone! Back by popular demand, we are once again hosting a great big group happy mail exchange. Our theme for this exchange is color! Any colors will do as long as you pick at least 3 different color categories. You will create your exchange package, post a photo of the contents and then mods will blind match everyone entered based on sending preferences.

There’s no sign ups! Just read our directions and jump in!

Here’s how to make your happy mail and what to include:

First:

Since our theme is color, you will pick 3 color categories. For example you may decide on shades of yellow, shades of blue and shades of purple. You will need to include a MINIMUM of 3 items for each color category you picked: 3 yellows 3 blues 3 purples = 9 items. For each color category you can send all of 1 type of item or a combination of items. Example: you may choose to send multiple shades of yellow paper, or you may decide on yellow paper, yellow washi and yellow stickers.

Here is the info on the sidebar of what can be offered:

The cardinal rule is that anything sent should fit into both of these categories:Is able to be used to make mail or scrapbooking art.Can fit into a flat envelope or flat mailer.
Here are some examples of things that can be sent: crafting things you create yourself, paper ephemera, envelopes, washi samples, stamps, stickers, mini cards, regular cards, postcards, pen pal pockets, cut outs, stationery, papers, book pages, book marks, dried flower petals, recipe cards, etc.

Due to covid, we are not doing any food items for this exchange. We also aren’t doing full sized items for these exchanges to keep everything relatively equal for all the users. Papers should be about 6" by 6" minimum.

You may say, but I don’t have that many items! Fear not! Here are some suggestions so you can participate:

  1. Find some images online and print them out with your printer. These can be included as ephemera or used for decorating other items.
  2. Make it yourself! Little envelopes, labels/tags and ephemera can all be hand decorated with your own drawings or writing. Get creative!
  3. Cut out images that you find in magazines, books, wrappers, boxes etc. and use those to decorate any items you want to include in your happy mail.

SECOND:

Include a note, a postcard, a bookmark, whatever, that has your username on it, RAoHM, and “Rainbow Brighten My Day Mega Exchange” so the recipient knows exactly what this happy mail is for and who it is from.

After you’ve made your happy mail, follow these directions:

Now -: Prepare your Happy mail! And take a photo of what you are offering.

March 25 - April 8: Post pictures of your happy mail to the dedicated thread (not this post, we will make a separate post). Posting your photo to your profile, imgur, or imgbb are good places to do this.

Very important: comment with your picture your country and if you are willing to send internationally. We need this information to make our matches.

u/Vicsinn (Mod) will match up users based sending preferences, and how many people participated. Matches will be announced via a dedicated post. This will be completely random, and you cannot choose who you get. It is now up to you to get your Happy Mail into the mail. Keep in mind some mail traveling internationally can sometimes take a month to arrive. Please remember to post a “Thank you” on the monthly thank you post (and include a pic of your mail if you can).

You may use this thread to ask any questions and to discuss the exchange
