Gansho-in Temple in Obuse, Nagano has one of Hokusai's last major works on the ceiling. It's a phoenix with striking colors and an eye that seems to be looking at you no matter where you sit. Obuse also has the Hokusai-kan Museum so if you're a fan definitely make a visit!
