Hello, my fine friends! My birthday is looming at the end of the month, which means it's time for my annual panic that I am growing old and grey, and have not a bean to show for it -- so I'm hoping to at least have a handful of cards!

I feel slightly bad making this request post, because many of my problems are of my own making: I am once again a failing student on a year out of university, and have so overwhelmingly much(!) to do to return, but I'm just barely holding it together day to day. It's also a little bittersweet to be watching friends continue to smash life milestones -- which I should be turning into motivation, except I seem to be stuck in the 'despair' portion of the process! There are also various background oppressions (bereavement, &c.) that are just no fun.

So, I'm turning to this lovely community to work its magic once more! Mail from this sub never fails to boost my mood several notches, so anything at all would be most welcome. The message doesn't have to be specifically uplifting or motivational, either -- I sometimes worry about saying to wrong thing or not being helpful enough when people are struggling, so I'm removing that worry here!

Some particularly welcome themes: art and illustration, literature, propaganda posters (especially ft. Soviet Realism or war), cats and birds and bees, natural/floral things, Greco-Roman antiquity, and weird/esoteric things in general (NSFW is quite alright; I also love a good meme).
