I've got some long overdue Thank You's from waaaay back in May. Sorry it took so long, but I had to take a break from things to focus on myself, and then on my exams, and then on my bachelor thesis, and then on my new job 😆 So yea, a lot of things have been keeping me busy, but things have finally settled down and I'm back! I missed you guys 😊
u/KoreWrites - card - Thank you for the raoc_meta challenge "Flower" card. The stickers you used are so cute! You said you were low on spoons and that as a result, you were behind on promised exchanges. I had never heard that expression before and was so confused at first 🤣 I remember trying to make sense of what actual spoons have to do with sending cards and came up with the wacky theory that people use spoons to melt wax for wax seals, and since you ran out of spoons you can't send cards, hahahah.
u/reindeerfrog - card - Thank you for this beautiful Japanese style card. You can't see it on the picture but the gold foil on the clouds/trees (? I can't tell what those are haha) is really pretty. You said that you usually go to Sweden a few times a year to go shopping. I used to do that too with Germany! :D But we also haven't been since Covid started. It's about time we go again, maybe I'll bring it up. I'll make sure to pick up some cards for RAoC! Cards from abroad are always more affordable than in Switzerland, and then I can't resist and buy a whole bunch, haha 😁
u/krfs - card - Thank you for the raoc_meta challenge "Pets" card. This one is adorable! And I love how you covered the christmassy elements with stickers of more pets, that made me giggle. In your card you mentioned how it's almost summer. Which is funny because it took me the ENTIRE summer to thank you for the card 😅 I already miss the warmer times!
u/babyraspberry (x2) - cards - I say it every time, but that's just cause I love it every time: The way you decorate your envelopes is amazing. And as always, your cards are amazing too, I can't wait to see other Disney movies on cards of yours! You mentioned that you were gonna go ziplining for the first time. That sounds so exciting! Did you enjoy it? I've never done it either but that's something I want to try someday.
u/amyt13 - card - That tram on your card is really cute. It reminds me of the ones we have in Switzerland to go up hills and mountains, I get a little bit excited every time I get to take one of those, haha. Custard tart liquer sounds pretty interesting. And also pretty yummy. I googled it and a bunch of portuguese custard tarts showed up. Now I'm hungry 😆
u/plushestpossum - card - You were right, I very much enjoy this card of yours! I'm so sad the Swiss Post doesn't do anything special for Lunar New Year; they'd make so much profit off of me alone! 😆 A PhD in religion and culture sounds so cool (and also difficult; but I think every PhD is difficult haha..). I'm so sad that I've never had bubble tea from Taiwan. In fact, I've never even been to Taiwan and it's something I should really, really do. My go-to bubble tea order is classic milk tea, without brown sugar sirop and with tapioca pearls. Iced in summer and hot in winter! Oh also, I love the Chinese zodiac washi tape!
u/AlmostAGypsy - card - Hey! You said you remembered me from the surprise advent-calendar I planned for my boyfriend, with the help of RAoC. And well, he's an ex now, but also a very good friend 😁 But yeah, thank you, life's been good lately. I hope things are well on your end too!
u/necropolis- - card - Woah this card is so cool, it glows in the dark! You asked if I had seen Everything Everywhere All At Once and actually I haven't! People have told me it's a fantastic movie and I started it, but it was so unusual, I had to pause it to come back to another time 😅 I'm not a big fan of chaotic movies but I think I'll still finish this one someday. Because I know it's good, and because it speaks to me culturally.
u/cookalot - card - Thank you for this whimsical card. You mentioned a newsletter for a food volunteer program. That sounds cool, and I love trying out new recipes, so I'll definitely sign up! Edit: I just signed up but it said something about a registration closing date. It's been a while since I've received your invitation but I hope it's still up/running! 😅
u/cookbree - card - The succulents are soo cuteee, thank you for this card. I've probably said this before but when I get my own place I definitely want to decorate it with succulents and other plants that are hard to kill 🌵 The drawing you did on the inside of the card is really pretty! I've never watched Better Call Saul; I only know him from Breaking Bad haha.
u/isar-love - card - Thank you for this funny raoc_meta challenge "Pets" card 😁 Unfortunately I don't have any pets! I've always, always wanted a dog though, but my parents have always said no. Which is reasonable, cause we really don't have space or time for a dog to be able to live a happy life. But once I settled down on my own and have a big enough place I'll definitely, 100% adopt a dog. It's my probably biggest wish in life :D
u/TheFeistyFox - card - Thank you for the raoc_meta challenge "Pets" card 🐶 There's a subreddit called r/PiratePets and it's adorable! I don't have any pets unfortunately, but I've been wanting a dog ever since I could think. We never got one though, because we didn't have enough space or time for a furry friend. But once I've settled on my own, with my own place, I'll definitely go and adopt a dog 🥰 That's the one thing I definitely want for my future.
u/earthfireairwater - card - It's funny that your mom would tell you to go to sleep faster when you were hungry, because that's exactly what I tell myself when I'm hungry while in bed! :D Because I can't sleep if I'm too hungry, but also can't sleep right after food hahaha... So my solution is to try and fall asleep before I get too hungry, so I can eat once I wake up!
u/Bree867 - card - I loooove this card! Sushi is my favourite food; combine that with the lovely Loupaper-style cards and I'm 100% sold. I'm waiting for her to have a sale before buying her cards in bulk because shipping to Europe is so expensive 😆 Congrats on the 500 flairs again! By now you've probably got much more though, haha.
u/wabisabi_sf (x2) - cards - I asked about what new things you had tried recently and one of your answers is chain card projects! Those are really fun, and it's so exciting to follow their journey. I've participated in the World Travelling Card Project that's been going around for 2 years.
----- And finally, the cards from September! Yay, I've worked through my backlog! 🥳 Thank you again to everyone, for the cards and also for your patience, haha -----
Edit: I lied!! I just found another pile of cards oh no. I'll post another Thank You tomorrow 😅
u/xoxounityoxox - card - You said something about preparing lesson plans and grading, are you a teacher? I've got a little story about one of my professors from uni last year. I've always been bad with numbers, but this professor would always take his time explaining things to us and making sure we all understood before moving on. He's someone I really appreciate, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that does. So yea 😁 Teachers and professors, we appreciate you!
u/MonetMonkey - card - Thank you for the raoc_meta challenge "Underwater" card. The envelope is really cool but the card? Woah. It's so, so pretty. It looks and feels really luxurious, I'm almost scared to touch it 😆 I love it!
u/DPClamavi - card - Thank you for the raoc_meta challenge "Underwater" card! When my brother was younger he had an orca plushie that was one of his favourites. When my mom told him they were also called "killer whales" he got really upset and almost started crying because to him, all orcas were good guys, just like his plushie 😆
u/funtonite - card - You talking about your Malabar spinach makes me really crave spinach too, hahaha. I haven't had any in so long and I actually really like spinach. You said it's not as bitter, and that's the only thing I don't love about regular spinach, so I definitely have to try those when I get the chance! Oh man, I really am an adult now, getting excited about spinach 😆
