I received quite a lot of cards in the past weeks, but didn't open any of them until yesterday, as I had made a birthday card request and forgot to include asking to mark the envelopes so that I know it's a BD card. So in order not to accidentally open one too early, I decided not to open anything until yesterday! A separate thank you posting for the BD cards will follow, and some of you will be in that one, too :)
/u/tigerlady13 - Thank you for the surprise happy mail! X Files is awesome, I've started re-watching it too a while ago but cancelled my subscription to the streaming service I was watching it on. Good thing it's a show I can just jump back in again if I renew it or one of the others picks it up :) I'm a huge fantasy fan so I am having a blast at the moment with the new House of the Dragon and Rings of Power series.
/u/tigerbarksmeow x6 - Thank you for the huge stack of cards!!! I am sorry to hear about the singer's passing. I know the feeling of missing people even if you only ever knew them through media, especially if it was since childhood. They were always there, until they weren't. They leave a hole behind. I have never been to any Asian country yet, unfortunately, but I would like to go some day. Travelling doesn't come easy to me so it's a little too daunting of a task right now, but I hope this will change! Crossing my fingers on your exams!!! Promised mail to you is currently on its way (with the stamp you liked so much :) ), but I will reply further to this set of cards you sent me in another mail.
/u/nyancatnova - It was so great to hear from you, thank you so much! I won't write much about the content here and instead reply in my return mail. Sending happy thoughts your way until then!
/u/caknuck - Thank you for the postcard! It reminds me I should get off my bum more and work out, haha :D Oh you are so very right with S8 and the Dothraki. It was about as smart as sending the children, elderly and women into the Crypts full of dead people. What could go wrong??
u/hexagonalrainbow x2 - Thank you for the two cards, I love the Winnie The Pooh one especially! I've gotten lost in the game that knows how to drag people in the most, World of Warcraft (the classic re-release). The most popular expansion is about to drop for that one, I'm expecting the worst for me. I've already taken a week off work, lol!
/u/travel4me22 - Thank you for the pretty handmade card! The training of dog no. 2 is coming along ok, given his age and history. He has made huge progress since we got him. Still has a few things where it's more about managing him and the environment as to not set him up for failure. He's a good boy. :)
/u/daeneryswon x2 - Thank you for the two cards! The D&D one is awesome, and I love the bird one, I'm all for those slightly "rude" cards with innocent motives on them! I'm enjoying HotD a lot too. E4 is the recent one and I love how everything is set up in motion now. From the trailer for the next one, it looks like the pace will pick up even more. You are right with the dialogues, they are good compared to lots of other series, but not on GoT S1-4 level. Then again, that is quite a challenge anyway! Not a big fan of the intro myself. I don't hate it, but seeing it once is enough, now it's skipped. I watch a lot of analysis videos from various YouTubers (Alt Shift X and Talking Thrones are great!), and apparently it's supposed to show the connections/ties/family trees between the houses. While I love hearing the intro music, I would have preferred if they had given it its own twist. Musicians remix stuff all the time, that was a missed opportunity!
