Hello RAOC friends. Thank you for being patient with me. I've had so much going on lately, I just haven't felt up to opening mail. I'm sitting down tonight though and going through all my recently (ha) received postcards. I'll try to comment on what I've received, but my spoons are rather depleted so comments may be brief!
u/New_Year_Baby x2 - Thank you for the Paris and humanity postcards! I'm not sure I could manage a visit to the top of the Eiffel Tower myself, I find that winds at great heights freak me out! I'd happily eat all the creme brulee and croissants in Paris though... haha. And yes, the fall stuff is EVERYWHERE, and it's still like 95 degrees most days.
u/KoreWrites x2 - Thanks for the stained glass and orange grove postcards! The orange grove was is especially ooooooh to me!! :D
u/M0nk3yklng - Thank you for the art postcard and awesome crab stamps from Thailand! Those stamps are incredible!
u/amyt13 - Thank you for the neat soft fruits post directions card! That's so much fun. I've actually decided that my future kitchen decor (like once we move to our own place next year) is going to be fruit - just in general. So this could be a fun postcard to frame :D I love all the citrusy stickers, especially the one with the dress! So cute! (The lesbians unite stamp is great too!)
u/libertyprogrammer - Thanks for the nebula postcard! Speaking of being blown away by the James Webb photos, I got my stamps today. Looking forward to using them on future mail!
u/TigerLady13 - Thanks for the "we dig our beach at night" postcard. That's fun :)
u/Sable__ - Thanks for the super cute mice in the mailbox postcard. It's such a cute wintery scene! I'll have to add this to my seasonal cards for display :)
u/girlsonabench - OMG SUGILITE! - I love this postcard, and the citrus and bear stamps are just glorious. I hope you enjoyed your cabin time!
u/thecaledonianrose - Thanks for the positivity postcard! The rainbow sticker is cute!
u/MonetMonkey - I keep typing MoneyMonkey idk. Ha. This is an awesome postcard. I love those old school travel poster styles. So cool you saw a kingfisher! Those are neat birds.
u/rosa-marie - I LOVE the pantone postcard! Such a bright and cheery yellow. Yay for fellow citrus fans! I think I have to say that it depends on the context! I love the scent of lime the most I think. Taste... I'm partial to oranges and lemons. For baking, I love lime! I have a recipe somewhere in a box for some lime "zinger" cookies that are absolutely incredible. If I ever find it again I'll send it to you :)
u/ninajyang - Thanks for the "you're a winner baby" postcard. You are right - I've survived everything up to now, so there's a good chance I'll make it through ALL THE THINGS now too. :)
u/robusto_esplendido - Thanks for the Castle in the Sky postcard! I love Ghibli movies, and this is one of my favorites. :) The clouds are so beautiful!
u/EricBatailleur - Hiya Erik! I love the "cherish mangoes always" postcard you made. :D Will have to be part of my future fruit themed kitchen. I'm so glad you and Srirachat are going good. She's a sweetheart, as are you. :)
u/bluedecemberart - Thanks for the super great cheesy Newport postcard! Very fun and kitchsy in the best way. Ferries are awesome and I love standing out and catching the sea spray and spotting dolphins and birds. Once I saw HUNDREDS of jellyfish. Of course that's here in Texas, I'm curious what kind of wildlife you see on your ferries up north?
u/DPClamavi & u/ignaposts - Thanks for the joint postcard from your meetup in France! The pickled watermelon sounds good, and Igna I LOVE your little sketch of everyone including Merlin! So cute!
u/Bree867 - I LOVE vintage travel postcards like this. So much fun to see the way it was at some random point in time. Especially beach postcards, and seeing how swim fashions change. :D
u/isar-love - Thank you for the RAOC meta beach challenge postcard. Surfing gorillas is super cool! (Sorry I haven't gotten yours sent out yet - I haven't managed any mail for weeks now so I'm just really behind. Hopefully soon!)
u/welshfancy - Thanks for the variations on aloe postcard! Very cool! I'm TERRIBLE with plants honestly. The branches you were referring to were dead branches from the little landscaping bushes that froze when we had our big freeze last year. :D I tried to garden this year but... it was NOT a success. IDK. J gave me a valentine's succulent though, and I've managed to keep it alive... by leaving it pretty much alone! I give it a little water like once a month and it's flourishing.
u/reverdog - OMG capybara and oranges!! The citrus aesthetic really is wonderful isn't it? To be honest, I usually consume other fruits (apples, strawberries, watermelon), but I just LOVE the scent of citrus, and the colors, etc. Lemon DOES go excellent with chicken! I had a grilled lemon half with an herby chicken recently and it was chef's kiss no joke!
