Some of my lovely friends on here know I am set to run my first marathon on February 19th. I completed my longest run of the training plan and was ready for my taper before the big day and then disaster hit.
I injured myself while weight lifting about a month ago, and then furthered the injury by continuing to run on it like nothing had happened. All was fine and dandy until about a week and a half ago when I woke up barely able to walk and in a lot of pain. I had screwed myself. Apparently, I am not invincible as I previously thought.
I am fortunately no longer in much pain, but I am still stuck at home unable to run (or even walk properly) until I am fully healed.
I have high hopes of healing soon and I will run a marathon in the near future, even if it's not on my dedicated race day, but until I can run again, I need something to distract me over these long hours.
