u/LeeElla Thank you for your tiger card for and sharing your goal to be more conscious of your spending for the environment - we can all definitely do with more of that! Maybe it's time for another no spend challenge...
u/batcaved thank you for your new year wishes and it's always a joy getting a card with your lovely calligraphy on! Definitely up for an exchange soon :D
/u/m0nk3ykLng (x2) Thank you for your Savoury food exchange card with fish head curry on and your Happy Neeeew Year Card! I only get Buah Keluak at family friends's place during CNY and occasionally when I'm going to peranakan food places with friends. I'm more of a Babi Pongteh person myself! I do eat the nuts but I usually only take a quarter or half a nut, well distributed through the rice. It's too rich on it's own for me! For your CNY card, in pre-covid times the dish everyone looks forward to at my father's side is vegetarian bee hoon cooked by the oldest aunt. It might look simple, dry brown noodles with colourful shredded veggies distributed throughout, but it's an incredibly rich dish with mock abalone and it's brine lending a lovely depth of flavor. It's the 'base" we pair everything with for Day 1 lunch, especially chicken curry (so much for it being vegetarian, haha). Now that that aunt's pretty elderly and in the current times where we don't mass-visit a house on the first day now I haven't had it for a long time. I miss it!
u/haljyon Thank you for your tiger card and telling me about your many resolutions! Wow that's definitely enough to keep you going for the year indeed. I'm glad I'm one out of your (hopefully) 100 cards this year! That kalimba sounds sooo cool too.
u/StephanieTay (x3) Your postcard arrived pre-CNY and the envelope only came after, funnily enough! I'm loving the art on every one of these cards you sent, I'll definitely be looking up the artists! My CNY usually involves two reunion dinners with each side of the extended family and lots of visiting so needless to say they have been rather pared down in the recent years - probably about a quarter of what it usually is. I'm still grateful for opportunities to get together and enjoy homecooked food with my relatives though!
u/isar-love Thank you for your very fast piggy for the new year! All the piggies in the world sound adorable - my sister in law loves them and they are her favourite animal, so she must be on to something :P
u/Maxmax09 Thank you for the gorgeous black hole space card! The discoveries it holds in store are just fascinating and I'm so excited for the James Webb Telescope's successful launch this year. It seems like we haven't had big space news until now but it was worth the wait (and the eventual pictures and data!)
u/Tigerhueterin Thank you for your marvel card exchange and the goodies enclosed within, especially the washi tape! I haven't had the chance to watch many Disney shows that are Marvel related personally but it's good to know I'm never lacking if I need a fix! I miss comic cons too and can't wait for their return.
/u/dpclamavi (x2) thank you for the stamp-decorated cards and le Mont Saint Michel card! I hope to visit that place one day, it definitely looks like something out of fantasy. I looked up Benjamin Lacombe's art and it would be absolutely amazing for an Alice in Wonderland Stamp set by them as you suggested. Their style is just perfect for it!!
u/amyt13 (x2) I'm sorry to hear about your ill family member and I hope they don't feel quite as poorly now! My goal this year is to be more active and I started doing some pilates and rockclimbing but then immediately gave myself a strained knee tendon (I guess I was too enthusiastic and my body can't keep up like it used to in my early 20s) so I'm recovering at the moment but looking to ease myself back into it very soon. Are you still away or are you back? I'm still hanging onto my half of the videogame exchange for you, and I'm planning to finish the DLC of Spiritfarer in the near future - would love to write you some spoiler-free thoughts if you needed more time :)
