Some weeks ago I submitted my first request to celebrate getting my masters degree. I was a bit scared whether it was okay to ask but you all just showed me how amazing this community is. I was not able to celebrate with my friends given the pandemic, but you knocked it out the park. Thank you!
So without further ado, let's get to the thank you's to some awesome people :)
u/NoHumidity - I loved the card (I'd love to fly with a hot-air balloon one day) and the stickers! Thank you so much for the nice message - I look forward to where my journey will lead me. It certainly is an adventure for sure!
u/TheFeistyFox - what a cool handmade card, thank you so much! I'm staying at the same university, but I'm (half) switching to a new experiment. I did get to celebrate a bit with my family so there's that! Also, I'd like to say thanks for the cool seal of pure genius - I will treasure this for whenever impostor syndrome hits again ;)
u/Tigerhueterin - thank you so much for this beautiful card! I am now enjoying a nice break and I hope to visit the beach once the pandemic is over, just like the girl on the card :) I love the stickers you placed on the cards, butterflies are some of my favourite animals! Danke dir!
u/SandraT63 x2 - thank you for two beautiful cards! It certainly is an amazing feeling, looking back at all the work I put in my master thesis and seeing the end result. I hope the new year brings you nothing but goodness as well!
u/Im_Saladchild - I really love the Self-Care Bingo card (thank you!) and I most definitely needed the reminder :D My sister dropped physics as soon as she could, so I definitely understand where you are coming from. Going deeper into languages and linguistics sounds super cool as well and I wish you best of luck with that! Also yes, you are pretty close to me - funny to see just how small the world is :)
u/malozing_running - thank you for the cute card! I am now enjoying a well-deserved Christmas break before I will really get back into the game in the new year. I am so excited!
u/gummibearhawk - thank you for the beautiful winter scenery card! I wish you all the best as well for the new year!
u/CSWL x2 - thank you for two amazing cards! I learned so much during my master's but still feel like I have so much left to learn, but I guess that's a pretty normal feeling in science. I look forward to see what I'll find out in the next years! Your note about your grandma made me call my grandparents and tell them how much I love them. One wish I have that money can't buy is for my mom to get her sense of smell and taste back so she can taste her favourite foods again (she did not loose it due to covid, this has been a gradual decline for years after a failed operation).
u/Zennet - thank you so much for the cool card, the amazing stamps of Einstein and Chien-Shiung Wu (we learned so much about her!) and the THREE awesome Women in Science postcards! I loved them all and I directly went and showed them to my family. I definitely had a lot of sleepless nights during my master's (and I'm 1000% sure this will be the case again during my PhD), but I wouldn't trade it for anything else. I would love to find dark matter during my PhD! :)
u/Findrane - Thank you so much for that amazing handmade card! I can't believe this is the first card you made with your new die-cutting machine because it is simply amazing. I love the constellation cover so much! I am registered as a PhD student since the middle of this month, but I will really start my work in the new year. I can't wait! Also, I'd like to say thank you for your work - being a nurse in the middle of the pandemic is one of the hardest things there is. I applaud you!
Thank you all so much for your cards! I hope you get to spend your holidays with your loved ones. I wish you all the best for 2022! Stay safe and healthy!
