Hello RAoC, I’m turning 36 on the 24th, and really having a hard time because of some recent events.
I usually love my birthday and have a great time with it, but last year didn’t go so great, and this year is so much worse. I honestly feel like I’ve stepped into a really bad episodes of Dateline.
TW: On 12/3 my uncle was killed by my cousin during the cousin’s psychotic break. He then tried to harm himself. My cousin is being charged with 2nd degree murder. My uncle’s funeral and burial is a couple of days before my birthday.
On top of all of that, the day after I learned about the family situation, I found out that a dear friend passed away from complications of Covid. She was one of the most generous and wonderful people on the planet (as was my uncle). Her funeral was this past Saturday, and I wasn’t able to make it because the transmission on my car died on Friday.
Soooooo… if anyone has any words of wisdom or ideas on how to not be so sad and angry at the world, I will happily take them!
