I’ve been bouncing back and forth between posting something and not. I just lost the last spoon and I need more. My big 4-0 birthday is at the very end of this month. I’ve been excited up until now!!! I found out my remaining parental unit is driving as a “surprise” for my birthday.

(For a small background, grew up as the oldest of a large Catholic family, moved out at 21, married, kids, and then moved over a thousand miles away from family for our small family mental health almost 14 years ago. Lost one parental unit five years ago and remaining parental unit is loosing grip on reality.)

I need a reason to look forward to the day again and offset the impending mental drain for that day. I really am looking forward to the day, but the thought of parental unit raining on my day hurts. My spouse and kids are great, don’t get me wrong, but this being such a big birthday requires reinforcement.

This is where I am turning to this amazing community. Help me celebrate this big day. Any cards of wishes would help me get more spoons. No card is unappreciated.
