[Thank you] an overdue thank you to many people! I am out of the hospital and recovering, and I have to say that the trip to the post office and seeing my PO box stuffed full lifted my spirits so much it was indescribable!

I got out of the hospital on the 7th and I made it to the post office over the weekend, and I was so surprised and happy to see how full my PO box was! It's taken me some time to be able to sit down and actually make the thank you post so I apologize for that, and there are probably more cards at my PO box by now (I plan to go back today to check it again) but for now it's time to thank a bunch of people!

Receiving these cards and sending cards out through this community has made my recovery the last few months so much more pleasant, just to have the sense of community here. It has given me something to look forward to every day and an activity to do that involves other people, and for that I am eternally grateful.

So without further ado, and in no particular order:

u/CSWL x2 Thank you so much for the halloween card and the get well soon card! I really like when people ask me questions in the cards that they send because it starts a dialogue and I love the feeling of community. My least favorite part of halloween is that I don't live in an area that gets very many trick-or-treaters since I live in a larger city, and I would love to hand out candy to the kids! And also, sending out these cards and being a part of this community here and also on r/penpals has been the hobby that I have started in the last 2 months while I've been working on my health. I only work a few hours a week because I am on disability, but I am taking a leave of absence from work right now so that I can do an outpatient program right now and I am also trying to make homemade cards with cardstock and scrapbook paper so that I can stay busier and do more things with my hands. I found that when I was in the inpatient hospital I really enjoyed being in the art room. I am hopeful that I can continue with the "art therapy" part of my life now that I am out of the hospital, so thank you for asking about this part of my life!

u/sebisrude Thank you for the cute, uplifting homemade get-well-soon card! just bought a very large corkboard to display all of my cards on to show all of the support I have gotten from this community so that I have something right above my desk to look at when I feel down and I feel like your card will be a beautiful addition to that.

u/babyraspberry Thank you for the world postcard day card! With everything going on I honestly can't remember if I was supposed to send one out to you or not, so please let me know if I owe you one and I will send one out! Your card is a beautiful design.

u/doglurvr1815 I love your card! The little owl is so cute! I'm always so impressed with people who make their own cards with cardstock or design their own cards digitally- I feel like I am just not as creative as that. Thank you so much for the well wishes and the unique card! It will go great on my corkboard and I am excited to put it up!

u/ordinaryclover Thank you so much for your beautiful Rose postcard! I love cards with botanical designs. Your handwriting is also so small it's impressive! Did you end up taking that job interview?

u/littlemermaidxx Thank you so much for your uplifting words! I felt renewed when I read your card. It was just what I needed when I got home from the hospital!

u/nohumidity Thanks so much for your card, and the reminder to stay hydrated! It's so hard to remember a thing as simple as that when you come home from the hospital and don't have a nurse constantly bothering you about drinking more water. Thanks for the kind words!

u/refreshilize27 So excited to hear about your new job opportunity! I hope it has been going well for you. My least favorite thing to bake is probably anything with whipped egg whites like french macarons because they are so difficult to get right and you can spend a lot of time on them and they can still turn out like crap.

u/ez330 Thank you for the postcard and the well wishes! I am loving all the little reminders that I can do this, and I am definitely going to pin yours up on my corkboard after I finish writing this post!

u/soxgal Thank you for the card! I actually just ordered a big order from michaels so I think I am all set on scrapbook supplies right now but you are so sweet to offer :)

u/stabigailkillems Thank you so much for your card! I hope your family is doing ok. Happy 30th Birthday! I love hearing about people's day. Your day didn't sound boring, it sounded like a great day to me!

Whew, that was a lot! I am sure I will have more in the coming days! Thank you so much to everyone who has sent well wishes in the past two weeks or two months or however long and for your continued support! It is very much appreciated and it won't be forgotten.

Edit: I pinned up all the cards I have ever received from this sub and here it is!
