Thank you all! I’ve gotten a bunch of responses so I’ll mark it as fulfilled!

Hello everyone - I am requesting some encouragement for my mom.

My parents both retired a couple of years ago, sold their house, and moved a few hours away to a less expensive area. They bought an older place that didn't seem to need too much work... and then it did. I wouldn't call it a fixer-upper, more like a make-it-nicer-to-live-in. So they've been putting a lot of work into it (new roof, flooring, appliances, garden), and they were finally getting into a good place where they could start to enjoy it, instead of just fixing it. They got new flooring installed just a few weeks after Christmas.

But then, just a few weeks ago, they had a whole lot of rain in a very short span. (Like 3 inches in 30 minutes.) The ground couldn't soak it up, and the back rooms of the house flooded. Their bedroom and bathroom, and the guestroom/office. All that new flooring had to be torn out, as well as the carpet that had not been replaced. So now they're living with concrete floors in part of the house and trying to figure out how to handle the water that doesn't drain. I was visiting just after this happened, and we started digging a ditch on the side of the house just to help the water flow - but we got rained out and the ditch turned to mud.

Things have dried up, but it's putting a lot of stress on her and my dad. I got a card in the mail from her today, and she says "I get all stressed out every time it rains hard! Like two days ago - I just kept pacing through the house and back porch, waiting for rising water!"

She's having a tough time and I think some nice card/postcard encouragement would do her some good! I've shared some of the cards I've received her with her, and she loves my card wall, and thinks my carding is "neat!"

She loves the color green, turtles, M&Ms (especially Ms. Green). Flowers, gardening, music, Moana. She's Christian, so if you care to send something religious she'd be good with that.

I'll have the cards mailed to me to keep track of the thank yous needed (and so I'm not sharing her address), and then I'll give them to her the next time we get together.

I appreciate every single one of you! :)
